“Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.”
Marcus Aurelius
It is what we make it.
What OHC means, what the ring represents, is completely up to us. We each established our membership by oath and our bylaws by vote. By that oath, those standards are not optional. We must choose to make that the rule…it is what we make it.
In addition to that standard, the hope is “a rising tide raises all ships.” Fortitudinem et Honorem. We are a collection of uniquely talented individuals. We should continually encourage one another to grow stronger so we may live better, healthier, happier lives. Very few people have that kind of network, much less that kind of brotherhood…it is what we make it.
Remember the day you signed your oath. Think back to that experience and what it meant to receive your ring.
This is a volunteer unit, meaning that by our oath we’ve all chosen to be here. We have all chosen to live by a standard outside the mediocre and unaware. We recognize our collective strengths, and each hold ourselves accountable to supporting that effort…it is what we make it.
Additional Standards & Practices
While our bylaws are mandatory, these additional standards and practices are good ways to challenge ourselves, strengthen our capabilities and grow our shared experiences.
